Rudd Revs Up for "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire": "Who Else Can Drive the Original Ecto-1?"

Paul Rudd is suited up and behind the wheel in the upcoming "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire," and he's not hiding his excitement. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rudd revealed the thrill of piloting the iconic Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters' specialized vehicle.

“It was so great getting to work with them [original Ghostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson],” Rudd said, referring to his experience on set. He then added, emphasizing the special privilege of driving the Ecto-1, "It's so surreal honestly. I've been watching Ghostbusters my whole life and I'm such a fan of theirs and the film, to be part of it is a thrill, a total thrill. There aren't many of those vehicles around. It isn't like they built them new for this movie. It's pretty crazy to think, 'This is the Ecto-1 from the original Ghostbusters and I get to drive it.'"

Rudd's enthusiasm is understandable. The Ecto-1 is more than just a car; it's a pop culture icon. Getting to drive the original vehicle in a new Ghostbusters film is an experience reserved for a select few.

"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" picks up where "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" left off, with an ancient artifact unleashing a new ghost threat. The film will see the return of the original Ghostbusters alongside the new team introduced in "Afterlife," with Rudd reprising his role as parapsychologist Dr. Egon Spengler's son, Trevor.

With a returning cast, a legendary car, and a promise of ghostly mayhem, "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" is sure to excite fans old and new. And for Paul Rudd, it's a chance to not only team up with his heroes but also to take the wheel of a cinematic treasure.
